Veterinary Care of Ithaca

Just had my first visit with Veterinary Care of Ithaca, with my tiny 3lb poodle. Immediately the staff made me comfortable and the Vet was amazing. I felt confident that over the years I know my fur -baby will have the best health care for any situations that we might get into. I know we will be in good hands. Please consider this veterinary practice, for peace of mind regarding your fur-baby’s health.

By far and away the most compassionate veterinary office I have been to. The doctors are very knowledgeable and take the time to do a thorough examination - whether it's a routine check-up or a sick visit. I have had to remove teeth from 2 of my cats and honestly would only trust this staff to do anything of that nature in the future. They have oral specialists and truly care about the long-term health of the animals they see. I have never felt like they were just out to make money and have never had a problem or concern with their suggestions and care plans. The prices are incredibly reasonable and you can rack up points towards free office exams pretty quickly! Thanks for everything!

This practice is absolutely fantastic. I had called about two weeks ago asking to be put on the cancellation list in case any appointments opened up earlier and sure enough, when they had a cancellation a week earlier than my scheduled visit, they called to fit me in their schedule right away. I came in with a very anxious cat and Cassidy and Dr. Cazer were incredible with her. They are so clear in explaining everything they are doing and give thoughtful recommendations in regards to your pets care. They don’t push any unnecessary testing whatsoever. The price is also incredibly fair. I walked out spending a fraction of what I had anticipated. So thrilled to have found this practice in Ithaca.

I was in a panic when my 15 year old needed medical attention that our home veterinary provider could not help with. My experience trying to make an appointment with another local hospital was very disappointing. Veterinary Care staff were gentle, understanding and I felt better after just talking with them. They didn't promise anything but put me on a "wait list." They called the next day with an appointment. Although we humans were not allowed to accompany Gracie into the building (due to COVID), they were in contact by phone while we waited in the parking lot. They were amazing communicators. They were thorough in Gracie's treatment and she still talked with us when we got her home. In 4 days we had a true crisis and Veterinary Care came through again. I am so impressed with their services and staff ......I can not say enough good things about our experience. Gracie may have another opinion..............

This is the best Veterinary Clinic I’ve ever been to. I received care for my first (and current) dog here for 2 years before moving away from Ithaca. I have since moved to 2 different states and 3 different veterinary clinics. I have still never been able to find the type of honest and genuine care that I received here. These days it feels like every clinic is trying to scare you into purchasing unnecessary treatments, tests, procedures, etc. When I was with Veterinary Care of Ithaca, I always felt like I was given the full story, for example, “You could get X vaccine to be safe but if your dog is not doing Y you are probably fine without it, totally up to you and what you feel comfortable with. With my dog I do Z” That type of honesty is so refreshing from a medical professional and instills a type of trust; providing a feeling of care and safety for your animal that is invaluable. I wish I could still get treatment here if I didn’t live so far away! Thank you for giving me the skills I didn’t know I would need to advocate for what’s the right care for my dog!

Dr. Hummel and the vet tech staff are the best I’ve ever experienced. As a new puppy parent I was able to ask and get all the information I needed and Dr. H was extraordinarily helpful. With covid protocols in place I still felt reassured that I was getting excellent service and Ruby would be treated by Ithaca’s finest. Also thank you for the advice on my elderly kitty and how to help a nervous cat through her hardest phase. Many thanks 🙏🏻💕
